New Braunfels parks and the inflatable permit
New Braunfels rents pavilions and picnic sites across its park system, including Landa Park, Fischer Park and Cypress Bend Park. You can book up to 18 months ahead online, by phone at (830) 221-4350, or at the Park Administrative Office, 110 Golf Course Rd. Planning an inflatable in a city park? According to the City’s published rules:
- Inflatables need a City inflatable-device permit and are allowed only in designated areas (for example, Landa Park’s Dance Slab and certain numbered areas, and Cypress Bend Park).
- Inflatables that use water are prohibited, so leave the water slide for the backyard.
- Units may be no larger than 400 sq ft (larger rides may be considered at Cypress Bend with approval) and may not be staked. They must be held down with sandbags or water barrels instead.
- The City asks for a $1 million certificate of liability insurance naming the City as additionally insured and a current Texas Department of Insurance inspection certificate. An adult must supervise the unit at all times.
Tell us which park and area you’ve reserved when you request a quote, so we can help you choose a unit that fits those rules.
Canyon Lake, Bulverde and Spring Branch
- Canyon Lake is a census-designated place that takes in communities around the lake such as Sattler, Startzville, Canyon City, Cranes Mill and Hancock. Around the lake, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers runs parks including Cranes Mill, Potters Creek and North Park, and the Water-Oriented Recreation District of Comal County (WORD) operates Canyon Park and Comal Park as day-use parks.
- Bulverde Community Park (29815 Bulverde Ln.) is a 13-acre park with two covered pavilions, a large gazebo, playgrounds and a splash pad. Groups under 50 can reserve amenities online. Gatherings of 50 or more need a City Council Special Use Permit, so apply at least 60 days ahead.
- Spring Branch is home to Guadalupe River State Park (3350 Park Road 31). For a party with inflatables, a private backyard or acreage is the simpler choice.
Community events worth planning around
- Wurstfest runs for 10 days each November at the Wurstfest Grounds in Landa Park. The 2026 dates are November 6–15.
- Comal County Fair & Rodeo takes place each September at 701 E. Common St. in New Braunfels.
- Gruene, New Braunfels’ historic district, is home to Gruene Hall. Built in 1878, it’s billed as Texas’ oldest continually operating dance hall and is a big draw for weekend visitors.

Frequently asked questions
Can I have a bounce house at Landa Park?
Only with a City of New Braunfels inflatable permit, in a designated area. The City’s rules also ban water inflatables, cap units at 400 sq ft and prohibit staking. Reserve your pavilion first, then apply for the permit.
Do you deliver to Canyon Lake and Spring Branch?
Yes. Delivery fees are calculated by distance at checkout, and larger setups may need extra lead time for farther towns. Give us details about slopes and access when you book.
Can I bring a water slide to a New Braunfels city park?
No. The City’s inflatable rules prohibit inflatables that need water. Book a dry bounce house or combo for the park, or set up the water slide at home.
Do I need a permit for a big party at Bulverde Community Park?
Gatherings of 50 or more need a Special Use Permit from Bulverde City Council, and the City asks for applications at least 60 days before the event. Smaller groups can reserve amenities online.
