Park parties: know the rules before you book
Many Bexar County parties happen at a city pavilion. Rules differ from city to city, so check with the park before you reserve an inflatable:
- San Antonio city parks. The City’s reservation FAQ says a moonbounce can come without a separate permit if it is smaller than 15′ x 15′, has no water-slide attachment, runs on your own generator (no City outlets) and the vendor gives you a current state inspection. Extra inflatables or special table-and-chair setups need a Special Use Permit from the Park Reservation Office. Confirm current rules at 210-207-7275 before you book.
- McAllister Park (13102 Jones Maltsberger Rd.) covers 976 acres on the north side. It has rentable pavilions, including the Al Becken Pavilion and the Optimist Pavilion, which is free but still requires a reservation permit. Rentals have a four-hour minimum, and alcohol is prohibited.
- Converse. City Park (307 School St.) and North Park (8200 Spring Town) have two pavilions between them. The City asks you to call Public Works at 210-659-9513 to check the date before reserving online.
- Live Oak. Main City Park has a round pavilion with views of Live Oak Lake and a rectangular pavilion by the playground. Both are first come, first served when the City isn’t using them. The climate-controlled Clubhouse at 7901 Shin Oak Dr. (up to 72 guests) is rented to residents only.
- Universal City. Northview Park (100 Randolph Plaza Dr.) has a free splash pad plus reservable pavilions: A and B hold 25 guests each, and C holds 100. The splash pad itself can’t be reserved.
- Leon Valley. Raymond Rimkus Park is a 27-acre park at Poss and Evers Roads with pavilions you can reserve online. It sits in a floodplain and closes during heavy rain.
- San Antonio River Authority pavilions (for example along the Mission Reach, or at Graytown Park near Elmendorf) prohibit moonwalks, jump castles and other inflatables, as well as generators. Tables, chairs and concessions are a better fit there.
Community events worth planning around
- Fiesta San Antonio fills the city every April; the 2027 dates are April 15–25. Book early for Fiesta-weekend backyard parties.
- Windcrest Light-Up is a holiday-lights tradition that started in 1959. Residents decorate their homes, visitors drive the streets, and the lights stay up through December 31.
- Helotes Cornyval has run since 1966: four days of music, carnival, rodeo and food each spring at the 44-acre Helotes Festival Grounds on Leslie Road. The grounds can also be rented for events.
Where Bexar County parties happen
Typical party spots here are backyards, city park pavilions, HOA amenity centers, church grounds and school campuses. Alamo Heights, Olmos Park and Terrell Hills are small cities 4–5 miles north and northeast of downtown, and Alamo Heights and Olmos Park are largely surrounded by San Antonio. Olmos Park is known for its oak-lined streets, so check for low branches and measure your setup area before you choose a tall combo or water slide. See our church, school, HOA and park party pages for event-specific tips.

Frequently asked questions
Can I put a bounce house in a San Antonio city park?
The City of San Antonio’s reservation FAQ allows one moonbounce without a separate permit if it’s under 15′ x 15′, has no water slide, runs on your own generator and the vendor gives you a current state inspection. Anything more needs a Special Use Permit. Confirm with Parks reservations at 210-207-7275 before you book.
How much is delivery in Bexar County?
Delivery fees are calculated by distance at checkout, based on your event address, so there’s no flat chart. Larger setups may need extra lead time for farther towns.
Do you deliver to Alamo Heights, Windcrest and Helotes?
Yes. They’re all in our Bexar County service area, along with Converse, Live Oak, Universal City, Leon Valley, Kirby and the rest of the towns listed on this page.
Can I bring an inflatable to a San Antonio River Authority pavilion?
No. River Authority pavilion rules prohibit moonwalks, jump castles and other inflatables, as well as generators. Tables, chairs, tents (staking needs River Authority pre-approval) and concessions are better choices there.
